Frequently asked questions
Why do I need an account?
For every feature you sign in with your Apple or Google account. That’s how we recognize your subscription and redeemed codes, also on a new device. Your diary isn’t synced to a cloud; it stays on your device.
How do I redeem a code?
Sign in and enter the code in the app. It applies for the period stated with the code and is linked to your account. Afterwards it simply ends; there is no charge and no subscription. Each code can be redeemed only once.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play, and you cancel them there: on iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions, on Android in the Google Play app under Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by the store.
My subscription isn’t showing. What can I do?
Check that you’re signed in with the same Apple or Google account you bought with or redeemed the code on, then tap “Restore purchases” in the app. If that doesn’t help, email us with the approximate purchase date. We don’t need receipts or payment details.
How accurate are the AI estimates?
Photo and text analyses are estimates. A photo can’t show every ingredient, oil or portion. Check foods, amounts and nutrition before saving and correct them if needed. You can edit saved entries at any time.
Analysis isn’t working. What can I do?
AI analysis and food search need an internet connection. Check your connection and tap “Try again”. If your subscription isn’t recognized, tap “Restore purchases” in the app. You can always enter a meal manually, even offline.
How do I connect or disconnect Apple Health or Health Connect?
Connect: in the app under Settings → Health data. The app only reads steps, active calories and weight, and never writes data.
Disconnect: tap “Disconnect” there. To also revoke permissions on iPhone: Health app →
profile picture → Apps → AI Calorie Count → turn off permissions.
On Android: open
Health Connect → App permissions → AI Calorie Count → remove access.
How do I change or turn off reminders?
In the app under Settings → Notifications, where you can turn the daily reminder on or off and choose its time. You can also turn off notifications in your device’s system settings.
Can I move my diary to a new device?
Yes. Your account carries over sign-in and your subscription, not your diary, because there is no cloud backup. You move your data yourself: Settings → “Move to a new phone” → “Export data”. The file contains your plan, settings, meals with photos, activities, weight and health history. Copy it to your new device, sign in there with the same account and tap “Import data”.
Importing replaces all data on the new device. You’ll need to allow Apple Health or Health Connect access again there. The file isn’t encrypted, so keep it private and delete it when you no longer need it. Without an export, deleting the app removes your data.
How do I delete my data?
In the app: Settings → “Delete account”. This deletes your account on our server and permanently removes your profile, settings, meals, saved photos, activities, weight history, imported health data, reminders and upload consent from your device. Cancel any running subscription in the App Store or Google Play as well. Uninstalling alone only removes the data on your device, not your account. Exported files and Apple Health or Health Connect permissions are yours to manage. We keep no copy of your diary. See the privacy policy for details.
Does the app replace medical advice?
No. The app is for general nutrition tracking. If you have an eating disorder, are pregnant, have a medical condition or special dietary needs, please talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian.
